About CRCRS.JaredFernandez.com: The Sample Restaurant (“the Restaurant”) uses a Reservations System (“the System”) to track and confirm restaurant reservations by you (“the Guest”). The Guest accessible functions available at CRCRS.JaredFernandez.com (“the Site”) interact with the Restaurant’s System to find available tables, as well as to secure, change, or cancel online reservations. While the Restaurant’s table inventory is accessible to the Site to perform these functions, other Guest information may be stored by the Restaurant (for example, credit card numbers, dining history, and other Guest preferences) but is not accessible to the Site. In contrast, the Site will pass pertinent information to the System in the Restaurant as required to secure or cancel online reservations, for example. This document describes how Guest information is collected, stored, used, and in specific instances, shared with the Restaurant. Information you may be asked to provide when using the Site: If you choose to use the Site, you may be asked to provide a name, a telephone number, an email address, and other pertinent information. Although we do not automatically collect the e-mail address or other personal information about visitors to the Site automatically, we do store the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail use the Site to finalize a reservation. We also aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, and name, address, telephone number, payment (e.g., credit card number and billing address), and reservation information. For select events and/or holidays, a valid credit card number may be required to secure a reservation through the Site. All such credit card transactions are fully encrypted by the Site and certified by Comodo® and processed by Sample Hotel. In either case the credit card information will be shared with the Restaurant at which the reservation is being made, just as would occur with a phone reservation requiring credit card information. When your card information is entered into the system, it is encrypted and employees of the restaurant and hotel cannot access anything but the last four digits for identification. The entire card is only revealed to those users or parties responsible for processing any authorized charges to the card. Guests making reservations from outside of the United States should understand that all information shared during the registration and reservation processes is sent to and stored on a secure web server (“the Server”) that is located in the United States. The United States has data protection laws that may not be consistent with those of other countries. If the System transfers your information outside of your host country, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected. Information accessible to the Restaurant: When you make a Restaurant reservation using the Site, your information is provided to the Restaurant, just as would occur if you were making a reservation over the phone. You may have the option of providing special preferences or comments regarding your reservation, which the System will pass on to the Restaurant. Email from the Restaurant System: The System sends automated messages pertaining to upcoming or recent restaurant reservations, such as confirmations, cancellation notices, reminders, and/or invitations relating to special offers and/or special events. You may unsubscribe from the Restaurant e-mail list at any time by following the directions provided in the email communications, by replying to the message with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line, or by contacting us using one of the means listed at the top of this page. Purposes of obtaining your personal information: The System may use your personal information for the following purposes:
Changing your personal information: Once a reservation is made using the Site, a profile is created by the System for the convenience of the Guest. This information will be used by the Restaurant to provide a higher quality of service by tracking how many visits a specific Guest has made to the Restaurant, and well as track any dining preferences that may be expressed. Any Guest may change the following personal information at any time: name, email address, phone number, birthday (if it has been provided by the user), address (if it has been provided by the user), special requests that should be forwarded to the Restaurant when making reservations (if they have been provided by the user), and whether that user would like to receive communications from the Restaurant. The Guest may at any time may contact the Restaurant to request that all personal information be deactivated. The Restaurant may use the personal information that we collect to recognize returning diners and recall their special preferences. For this reason, the Restaurant may use the System to take note of your special requests, allergies, special occasions or other pertinent information that will help the Restaurant serve you better during your next visit. If the Restaurant chooses to note your preferences, that information will be typed into the System manually just as a restaurant might write a note on an index card. This data belongs to the Restaurant, since it is a product of the Restaurant's relationship with you. The Site does not access or use this information, and it is not shared with any other restaurants or third parties, other than, perhaps, a property under the same ownership. The System does create back-up copies of all information stored to assist in the restoration process in the event of data loss.
